From Wheeler's Civilizations of the Indus Valley and Beyond "The granary at Mohenjo-daro was built on a high podium with ventilation passages, and originally consisted of 27 blocks of brickwork with a criss-cross layout of passages. It was later enlarged and partially rebuilt, with a brick stair leading to the upper parts." (p. 19)
