Bathing Platform, Mohenjo-daro [164] (1179?) 67

Area not known

A bathing platform associated with a commode and sump pot. This photo shows a small room with a fired brick floor. The bathing area is in the background and is lower than the floor that has been built up around a large pot set it the ground. This vessel was used as a commode and a small drain that is no longer visible would have cut through the wall which is also missing to empty into a sump pot that is located outside the room in an alley way or street. The raised threshold of the doorway to the right keeps any water being used in the room from splashing outside into the living areas of the house.
