In addition to any commercial functions, the seal may also have designated a position of authority. The motif on the seal could also have been an amulet or charm.

Mohenjo-daro Stupa Mound and People
In the 1970s, it was much easier to walk over the so-called Stupa Mound; not that the circular remains of the Buddhist stupa was built long after the ancient Indus civilization, although possibly on top of an earlier sacred site.

Mohenjo-daro Lower Town: HR area and Stupa
