Young Historian Competition

 

Indus Valley Prize 2011 - 12

 

The Young Historian Project is pleased to announce a prize of £100 in book tokens, sponsored by the Historical Association, for individual or Group Project Work, 2010-11, on any aspect of the Indus Valley Civilisation for UK Primary schools.

Work can be presented in any medium! Closing date is July 31st 2011.

A selection of Indus Valley Prizes are also sponsored by HEC, and BBC Active; a set of useable replicas of Indus seals excavated at Harappa, or a publications of choice from HEC, leading UK supplier of IVC resources; the BBC Active DVD Pack, with Primary History two "Indus" Programmes, plus teachers booklet and 4 photocards;

NEW Prize for 2012 - A copy of Indus Investigators, Mohenjodaro Mystery, fiction story for 8-11 year olds published in India by Scholastic, featuring The Indus Unicorn, human and animal figurines as main characters existing in a time warp. See them animated at Indus Investigators pages!

Why not enter Animated Movies or Creative videos for all Primary Topics!

Entries can be animations, or ‘dedicated’ films scripted by children, which might feature models, puppets, and artwork, and should demonstrate what they have learnt from their enquiries!

The purpose of the prize is to encourage classroom History and celebrate the quality of what is produced in your classrooms, not to create the need for extra work! Enquiries about this prize and other Primary topics-(Local History, Local History & Citizenship, Best Primary School History Magazine) are most welcome.
