This film was shot as part of the effort to recruit men like those on the left into the Army. Over a million Indians fought in World War II, more than half from Punjab province.
In some western Punjab districts like Rawalpindi and Attock (from where the first speaker in the movie, Chief Minister Sir Sikander Hyat Khan was from) one third of all eligible men joined the British Indian Army and saw action in all fronts in World War II. These three men were interviewed on March 3, 1990 from a large group veterans who collect their pensions every month from the General Post Office in Rawalpindi.
The two Urdu titles on this film translate as:
Title 1. "Punjabi is a farmer in peace and a fighter in wartime."
Title 2. "We fought the First World War in slavery but this war we are fighting to get rid of slavery."
