The Shah Collection is an amateur color 16mm film collection shot by Dr. Riaz Ali Shah, a doctor in the Indian Medical Service, from 1939 until 1962. It was continued by his son Dr. Amjad Ali Shah after his death. All footage shown here has been transferred to new 16mm postive and internegative film, as well as videotape. The collection covers both pre-partition figures in the Punjab, Mohammad Ali Jinnah and his sister Fatima Jinnah, as well as most major Pakistani politicians in the 1950's and 1960's. | |
Other footage not listed here and not yet restored on new 16mm film, but available on request, includes film of such figures as Jackie Kennedy, Queen Elizabeth II and Jawaharlal Nehru visiting Pakistan in 1961 and 1962, footage from the Indo-Pakistan war of 1965, and Zulfikar Ali Bhutto as Foreign Minister in the 1960's and during the election campaign of 1970. |
