First Excavations at Harappa
1923-24: Unearthing the Mysteries of Harappa

Large Storage Jar

This complete large storage jar may have been recovered from Mound E, as it has a number E.1. painted on the surface. Harappans often used this type of vessel for storing water or other items. Many such vessels have been recovered from both domestic contexts and from the burials.

- Jonathan Mark Kenoyer, 2023.
