His work focuses on understanding the function of the prefrontal cortex – the bit of our brain right at the front of our head - and how it contributes to flexible, intelligent human behaviour.

Apoorva grew up about 90 kms north of the Harappan site of Lothal and has had a passionate interest in the Indus Valley civilization since he was 11. He hopes to contribute to outreach activities that help popularise the extraordinary work being done by archaeologists and Indologists in uncovering the history of this remarkable civilization.
